The Caterpillar group loved being outside all day! We started off by setting up our tarp in the forest where the children put their water bottles and we created a resting area. The children wanted to draw so they took the clip boards out of the wagon and began to draw what they seen in the forest. A few of them wanted to create a maze. They took yarn and wrapped it around trees. This took up a lot of time in the morning but they loved it. They worked very hard. A few children wanted to fill up our science blocks with pieces of nature. They found sticks, different colored leaves and dirt to put in them. We enjoyed snack outside, both am and pm. After lunch, which was spent inside, we headed back outside to another forest. In this forest they collected sticks, used the sticks to create pieces of art. We did run into some trouble in that forest though! Our thermos would not open! We were all excited to have some warm hot chocolate and we could not get it opened! All the children tried their hardest but we had no luck. We called out Sara Mac to come help us but no luck again. She was kind enough to make us more hot chocolate and brought it out for us to enjoy. The children are still talking about that hot chocolate mishap and yes, we did finally get it open! Thanks to Andrew!
