This week the Kinders went on their first field trip in awhile to go see Santa! We took the city bus there and for some it was their first time. We all got to tell Santa what we wanted for Christmas and got our picture taken. Than we hung out in the food court and had our snack before the bus came to take us back.

On Wednesday, we were determined to visit Santa at the mall no matter how cold the weather was. We all bundled up and caught the bus to Kildonan place. When we got there, the Kinders wrote letters to Santa and then took a group picture with him. It was a wonderful time, even the teachers felt the magic.
In Afternoon Kinders we have started discussing safety. This afternoon we were talking about safety in the car. We talked about how to act safely while driving and about how car seats and seat belts keep us safe. We watched a couple of videos on how to properly put on our seat belts and act safely in the car. We practiced this by making our own 'Kinder Bus' and practicing being safe in the car and putting on seat belts. Yohanes was our driver. He even had a steering wheel. The kids decided we were driving to the North Pole to see Santa.
Our field trip to see Santa this morning unfortunately did not pan out due to weather and road conditions. We didn't let it get us down though. We saw the snow storm as an opportunity to have a lot of fun in our own front yard. . This week we went to Rossmere Lanes for some five pin fun. Some of the Kinders were unsure of bowling and whether they would enjoy it or not, but I can assure you that they all left very happy and wanting to go again the very next day. This week in Kinders we made apple crisp.
Each child got to measure and put in an ingredient as well as help cut the apples and stir the mixture. It was a good lesson on waiting and taking turns. The finished product was delicious! |
