Today the Ladybug group took a bus down to the Kimberley Fire Station to drop off our Koats for Kids Donations. The Fire Fighters were so overjoyed with the amount of items we were able to collect and thanked the children for being apart of keeping other children in Winnipeg warm this winter! The Fire Fighters weren't on a call when we got there, so they offered to show us around the station. We got to see inside the fire truck, and got a demonstration on how to properly get ready with all their gear when they get called out to a job. On our way back to the school, we were walking to the bus stop and we got to see the same fire truck and fire fighters go by with the lights on because they were on their way to a job. They recognized us, waved and put on the siren! We had a blast!

Just outside the Kindercare room we have a new bulletin board titled, Meet Your Future Kinders.
As you may have noticed, many of them have said that when they grow up they want to be a Police Officer! Well, this week both groups were given the opportunity to meet a Police Officer in real life and the children were so excited! The Police Officers came in, introduced themselves, talked to us about what they do, showed us all their cool gadgets, how they can keep us safe and what we can do to keep ourselves safe! The children were also given the opportunity to try on some police gear and the Ladybugs even got to see inside the police car! Check it out!! |
