Today we had our first ever Kinder party and it went over really well. We started off by showing off our costumes which included a few disney princesses, a lot of superheros, a Star Wars character, a Policeman and a few others. Afterwards we played halloween inspired games, had a spooky snack and then story time with Cruella DeVille.

The Kinder program has been busy collecting and counting all of the warm items we've received. The goal that we've set for ourselves is 100 items. I think we'll make it! So far, we've collected 79 items and we're all very excited. We have until the end of November to collect. Thank you to all of the families who have donated.
Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend our open house last night! Next week we're going to distribute all of the rocks we decorated during the evening. The Kinders are very excited and can't wait. This morning they were showing all of their friends which ones their families colored.
Carving the pumpkins was such a fun experience. It was really funny to see the Kinders facial expressions as they dunked their hands in the pumpkin goop. Some wouldn't dare touch it and some wouldn't stop touching it.
The room is now decorated for Halloween! All thanks to our trip to Dollar Tree and the Kinders picking out really awesome decor. The walk was sure windy, but it was worth it. The Kinders also keep adding their own hand made decorations to the room. We're all very excited and can't wait to show off our costumes when the time comes.
We had quite the adventure on the way to Superstore on Wednesday. It was so windy but the Kinders loved every minute of it, laughing and squealing and giggling along the way. The Kinders picked out two beautiful small-ish pumpkins to carve at a later time. One for their group and one for the afternoon group. We'll keep you updated on how the carving goes! We can't wait to get started on that.
The Kinders had a blast making their first batch of playdough here together. We wanted to make it a festive orange so that's what we did! Once made, the Kinders went straight to work, creating beautiful 'meals' and giving eachother 'taste tests'. They were rolling, cutting, cooking and creating. Play dough is a favorite for sure, but who doesn't love playdough?
Our first field trip was definately a success. For most of the Kinders, it was their first time on a bus, ever! Some of them wanted to keep riding the bus and never get off. The Kinders found lots of books they wanted to take a look at. There were so many to choose from. We all really enjoyed our time and we can't wait for the next trip.
The Kinders have been enjoying mixing and measuring during playtime outside so we thought it would be great to do that and bake something we can eat later. "It's the Kinder baking show!" said Elliott very excitedly. The Kinders were asked what their favorite part about baking the apple crisp was and Hayden said "everything!" What a great way to bring in the fall season. Yum! More baking to come.
The morning was spent mixing shaving cream and cornstarch and the results were amazingly fun! Right before we started, Nash was a bit concerned and asked "are we going to be shaving our heads?" We didn't shave anyones head, mixing the two was exciting enough! The Kinders made comments like "oh it's so soft" and "it looks just like snow". The clean up was well worth it.
