The Caterpillar group has embarked on a project about our bodies. We started off by creating a recipe of a body. The children had the opportunity to draw a body part or two on a big piece of paper. Next we labelled the body parts and it is now hung up outside our room. Make sure to check it out. Next, I brought in a prop box filled with bandages, scrubs, stethoscopes, caps, surgical masks, slings and more to help extend the children's play. They set up a doctors office, waiting room and x-ray lab in the room so far. Their waiting room seems to be filled with patients who have broken limbs and the flu. The children had a few questions about going to the hospital so I decided to bring in a special guest. Jen is a nurse who also happens to be a parent of a child in the program. She came in to talk to the children about her job and what she does. She brought in her doll and showed the children how she helps other children at the hospital. We are very grateful to have had Jen come in to talk to the children. It inspired the children even more. Thanks Jen!
