Over the past few weeks the kids have building lots of different things in the block area.
They are building with all sorts of things, lego, colored planks and train sets. They are even combining toys from different areas to bring their ideas to life. Observation by: Kaylyn This morning after walking into our film room and finding kids making Paper Airplanes we decided to open the gym and let the kids race and play with their airplanes there.
Some knew how to make their own and some needed a little extra help, but everyone who came got to make their own, throw it and keep them! Experience provided by: Sheena The sandbox is always a hot commodity! These girls used this setup as both an ice-cream making factory, as well as the base of a science experiment. This just goes to show the power of creativity, and the idea that a little goes a long way. Observation by: Kelsey & Myron This was the first time we've tried this game at our centre and it was a success!! Tic-Tac-Toe is a fun game the kids already knew but now brought to giant size. The game involves running/racing and using problem solving and thinking ahead to try and make a quick decision. Carter said "This game is really fun!" Game facilitated by: Sheena It is our second year starting off with the wonderful folks from Games2U. It was such a fun way to kick off the school year. Hamster balls, laser tag, Ulaunch (water balloons) and the foam pit provided fun for all children (and staff) in attendance! |
