A castle had found our way to us and we sure made the most of it. Adding our own unique touch brought to life many adventures. We enjoyed visiting far away lands where princesses rule and dragons roam the country side. Oh and don't forget the wonderful wizards who keep us all entertained. Can't wait to see where adventure takes us next!

Calling all kids in the art room. This week the kids have been busy with the Christmas spirit of things and creating Christmas items. For example they used pipe cleaners and braided them together to create candy canes and also Christmas ornaments.
Today we found a misplaced floor puzzle in our area. We didn't think much of it other than to try and build it! That puzzle was so popular, we decided to search out as many puzzles we could find to put out the following day. Just as we thought, another success! Some completed them for fun and others turned it into speed competitions.
We don't know how that first one found its way to us but we're sure glad it did. After all, a puzzle is something to build and that's what we do best! - Andrew & Vera For the last couple of weeks we have been focusing on two main activities centred around musical games and Christmas songs. For musical games we have played follow the leader, hot potato, and Stella Stella Ola. For Christmas songs we sang out loud to the book A Porkepine in a Pine Tree which is a Canadian version of Twelve Days of Christmas. This week outside we did snow painting. Vera mixed food coloring into the water bottles and the children painted the snow with the different colors. Some worked together in mixing colors to see what they could make.
The children made snow hills and snow balls, then we sprayed them with different colours to make great images and color combinations!
In the art room a lot of kids have been putting their creative minds to work. For example they took tape and sectioned off their paper and painted the sections. Then they took off the tape and made beautiful pictures like a flag. Kaitlyn started it out and some others followed. They surprise me with what they can do with all kinds of materials.
Our children here at Dawn and Dusk are very creative, their imagination can go wild, here a few examples. First we have Jackson and Kolton working together to create Santa out of Legos. Then we have Aeryn, Daniel and Liam designing a Zoo of animals plus a castle for them. Last we have Addison building a log cabin with his animals close by. At this angle he looks like a giant looking overhead.
We haven't lost our marbles just yet! Here in AM Building & Construction, we're still rolling with a very popular attraction. We continue to reinvent an old idea by adding new items that lead our minds to new twists, loops and turns. It's this kind of innovative imagination that always has us looking forward to where we end up next. - Andrew & Vera |
