John De Graff will soon be getting some window upgrades with our newly designed stained glass projects. We've got a team of highly skilled artists creating a variety of color filled tiles. When each is completed, we put them up and watch the sunlight bring them to life. - Andrew

We have gathered up as may bead related materials as we could find to start a new series of projects. Everything from bracelets and necklaces to any kind of animal or object imaginable can be made. Endless possibilities await! - Andrew
Rehearsals have begun for this years Club 4/5s Got Talent Show. We're in our 3rd year now and it's more popular than ever. The children have collected ideas to form a variety of group and solo acts. Scripts and props are being developed as practicing has begun. We are still in the early stages and have not yet announced a show date so stay tuned!
Club 4/5 is once again selling those tickets to the fundraiser event Behind Closed Doors. This will be our second year involved as last years was such a big hit. Club 4/5 raised a whopping $1,610, enough to send them on a trip to camp for the day and they'd love to go back again! Tickets are $5 each! Buy Now! On our Gym day we decided to do things a little different. Instead of our usual games, we decided to do a bit of building with the always favorite gym mats. They created fort walls and even a tunnel system to connect them. It's always exciting to see their little cities come together and can't wait to see what they come up with the next time we pull out those mats.
On our first day back in the gym we jumped right into a variety of dodge ball type games. Some high intensity play really pumps up our 4/5s after sitting all day in school. As time passed and more children had gone home, we took a vote and soccer was how we would finish out our gym day. This week, we started our Minute to Win It competition. The children were given smarties on a piece of paper towel and they had to use a straw to suck the smartie and one at a time move them to another piece of paper towel on the other side of the table. However many smarties they moved that's how many they got to eat! For some kids that meant twenty and for other kids it meant five. Avery.P was our winner and we will be keeping track of our winners on a score board for all the weeks to come. Club 4/5 became plumbers for a day as a new game called Toilet Trouble had arrived. Much like their other favorite game Pie Face, each player would spin the paper roll revealing the number of times you must flush the toilet handle. Be careful though, you may get a bit of a splash! - Andrew Welcome back to another soaring year in Club 4/5 as we reach for new heights...literally. We jump right back in with a group of children who decided to test their skills on building a tower out of plank blocks. It started as a fun task but then took a serious turn as the sky became the limit, or perhaps just the 4/5 room ceiling for now. Of course building is fun but not as exciting as the tear down at the end of a build. Can't wait to see where the next tower takes us. -Andrew This week club 4/5 finally got to show off all their hard work in the talent show! This children were nervous and excited to show off what they could do. We had acts in music, like guitar and piano, as well as tutorials, and dancing. The kids were so proud of themselves! Thank you to everyone who came out to watch the show! Also, a big thank thank you to everyone who donated and bought a ticket for the show! The children were able to raise just over $110.00 for cancer care and childrens hospital! |
